About
Growing up in Northern Ireland details are important. The skies, so often grey; the sun, a suggestion. Spending countless days watching shadows float across the walls. Rain dancing on the windows. I learnt to consider and appreciate nuance.
This is present in my photography, translating to an observational and responsive approach.
I like to stand back and take in the whole scene. Starting wide I watch what’s happening and how things are moving. Then I move closer and explore.
My photographic practice, spanning 15 years, includes fashion, landscape, portraiture and still-life. Whether in or out of the studio it always starts with an idea and aims to convey an experience.
Inspired by all those cloudy days I often create a soft, subtle light which compliments my naturalistic and understated style. Having assisted for a decade the technical details are second nature. This leaves me free to concentrate on the mood and atmosphere.
Currently based in London I'm available wherever the wind will carry me.
